Congresswoman Underwood

Congresswoman Lauren Underwood continues to make history through both leadership and service. She was the first woman, first person of color, and first millennial elected to represent Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, and when she was sworn into office, she became the youngest Black woman ever elected to Congress.

She has passed 19 bills since being elected. She is the only democrat registered nurse currently in Congress, a public health advocate, and a member of House Democratic Leadership.
